Thanks Warner and Sam for tearing out that hideous vinyl picket fence in our front yard. And a double thanks to Warner who got tricked into biking 10 miles just to do it.
Oh and an extra double thanks to Sam who got peed on by the previous neighbor's Autumn leaf juice. Now onto more important things.
This color plus....this old changing table= you'll just have to wait and see.
I can hardly wait.

Hey, This is so random, I wanted to see if I could ask you guys some questions about Tylers surgery. I'm ten weeks out, and I'm just still in Alot of pain. I worry wondering if it worked and I think I get inside my own head about it. I wish there were a post surgery support group kinda thing, just to compare and see if what I'm going through is normal. But i've looked for info on the internet but its all so negative it freaks me out.I think since this is my second back surgery, and the first resulted in more pain, i'm getting worried. Would you mind telling me a little more specifics about when he started to feel pretty good, When he wasn't having to take so many pain killers, what things he still can't do,what makes makes his back flare up, anything really! and kind of what the outcome is looking like now? Sorry this is probably so strange, I just feel a little hopeless about it I guess. But since the same surgeon did it, and we're close in age, with the exact same procedure, its probablt a similar recovery. Thanks so much! And i'm sorry this is a Novel!
It's not weird at all! I hope what I say can help though. Tyler is now 5 months out and he is doing soooo well. He got hurt at work probably about 2 months ago so that set him back a little but even with that injury, he is still doing great. He is still taking pain mess because of that re-injury but I think he only needs 1 a day and maybe 1 to go to bed. He hasn't been walking as much as he should but when he does he can feel his muscles getting stronger although he usually will feel a little stiffness right after a walk.
When he sits for too long or when he has to bend over quickly, he gets flare ups that put him out for a few hours. He also carries things thinking that he can handle the weight but it's usually too heavy for him which will also put him out for a few hours.
It really helped his back when he would sleep on a big wedge of some kind. That would keep him in the same position all night and would prevent his back from twisting. The thing that has helped the most though is when I scratch or tickle his back. I think just the physical touch makes him mentally feel Some relief.
It was miserable for him for about the first 2 months but now, he only complains of pain about once every other day. That's compared to the 6-7 times a day pre surgery.
I hope I answered your questions and please ask me anything else you want to know!
I promise it gets better!!
Courtney,
That was SOO helpful! thank you. I feel better knowing that even though I don't feel good yet, In a couple more months I think I will start to. And even though I feel awful still, It is getting better
than before the surgery. i think I told my husband 6-10 times a day how miserable I was. So thats incouraging! I guess they really are serious when they say it takes six months to start feeling pretty normal! Your almost there! Thanks again for the info! And the dresser looks like its going to be awesome by the way!
